Join me for a three-part CPD series exploring how digital tools can enhance outdoor education; and how the insights gained outdoors can feed back into creative, curriculum-linked learning.

Across three summer evenings in the beautiful settings of Cawdor Forest, The Findhorn and Nairn Beach Front we’ll walk, talk, and test out a range of carefully chosen apps, websites and digital techniques that support nature connection, observation, creativity, and place-based learning.

This practical course is aimed at any educators or parents who want to embrace and explore novel new ways of teaching and learning in an outdoor environment.

What we’ll cover:

  • Nature ID & Citizen Science Tools:

    • Merlin Bird ID, iNaturalist, BIRDA, Seek, MammalMapper and more

  • Field Mapping & Navigation:

    • OS Locate, What3Words, Google Maps, MapRun and more

  • Creative and Reflective Tools:

    • Canva, Shorts, audio journaling and more

  • Weather & Environmental Apps:

    • Windy, Met Office, XCS Weather and more

  • Safety

    • St Johns Ambulance and more

We’ll explore how each app and website can be used during outdoor sessions, and how to translate those experiences into meaningful follow-ups.

What’s included:

  • 3 guided outdoor CPD sessions in beautiful locations - participants will be learning all about the world around them too

  • Hands-on experience using apps in real-world contexts

  • Teas, coffees, and snacks each evening

  • Certificate of attendance for your CPD records

  • Cost: £120 per person (optional digital resource pack available for purchase after the events)

This course is open to teachers, outdoor instructors, forest school leaders, and anyone working in education who wants to bring a fresh digital dimension to their nature-based learning.

Spots are limited come and discover how tech can deepen connection with the wild.

Please note: the event will need a minimum of four to run. Any cancellations from the organiser will result in a full refund. If participants cancel before 24 hours of the event then a partial refund of 50% will be available.
